  The Central Committee formed by the Minister of Health confirmed that what was reported by some social media about the death of four Corona patients in Al-Husseiniyah Central Hospital in Sharqia due to lack of oxygen.


 Ministry of Health spokesman Khaled Mujahid said that the central committee formed by the minister revealed that the number of beds occupied at Al Hussainiya Hospital and connected to the oxygen network includes (11 cases in nurseries. 2 cases sponsored by the internal medicine department and 3 cases with cardiac care) in addition to 7 cases of intensive care for patients with Corona virus and 33 cases in the department  Isolation for those infected with the virus.  All of them were provided with oxygen from the same oxygen network at high frequencies, and none of them was affected.


 This confirms that there is no relationship between deaths and the reported lack of oxygen in the hospital.  He added that the deaths that occurred in the intensive care unit at Al-Hussainiya Hospital died in different periods of time, and most of them were elderly, suffering from chronic diseases and had pathological complications as a result of their infection with the Coronavirus, which led to the deterioration of their health and their death.


 Mujahid said that the committee found that the hospital’s gas network was operating with high efficiency, as the tank yesterday contained 500 liters of medical oxygen gas, in addition to the presence of a backup gas network in the hospital connected to 24 medical oxygen cylinders, and the presence of 45 cylinders as a strategic stock in the hospital, adding that all the hospital’s departments operate.  To their full capacity and all patients are receiving their necessary medical care.


 Mujahid continued that regarding the death of two patients at Zifta General Hospital in Gharbia Governorate.  It cost Hala Zayed.  Minister of Health and Population Mustafa Ghanima, head of the therapeutic medicine sector, to form a central committee from the ministry as soon as the incident occurs, to investigate it and to take all legal measures against those who prove their negligence.


 Initial investigations confirmed that the two deaths were infected with the Coronavirus, and they were in critical condition and were suffering from chronic diseases and ventilators, adding that at the time of the incident, there were 4 cases in the hospital in the emergency departments of an (oxygen mask), 3 cases in the nursery department on ventilators, and 3 cases on sessions  Oxygen care for children and 27 cases in medium intensive care for patients with the emerging coronavirus.  And 4 cases of burns department on artificial respirators.  And 7 patients were in regular intensive care on artificial respirators.


 The Egyptian official explained that the oxygen tank at that time was filled with (5400 liters) in addition to the presence of 24 oxygen cylinders full of the medical gas room, pointing out that the Public Prosecution office was investigating the incident to determine the causes of death.


 Mujahid emphasized that the state has provided sufficient stocks of medical oxygen in all hospitals in the Republic since the beginning of the new Corona virus pandemic, in cooperation with major gas companies, which continuously supply oxygen to hospitals and provide sufficient strategic stocks to meet all the needs of the health sector, especially for patients with Coronavirus.


 The number of oxygen (tanks) and cylinders has also been increased in all hospitals.  In addition to raising the efficiency of all hospital medical gas networks and periodic maintenance to prevent any malfunctions or leaks of medical gas devices that affect patients' receiving medical service. On the other hand, Minister of Health and Population Hala Zayed confirmed the availability of sufficient stocks of medical oxygen gas in all hospitals that receive patients  The new Corona virus in the governorates of the Republic, noting that the state spares no effort to preserve the health of citizens in light of the face of the emerging Corona virus pandemic.


 The Ministry of Health and Population appealed to the media and social media users to investigate accuracy and objectivity in publishing news and to obtain information from official sources to avoid causing confusion and panic among citizens.
